The clock is ticking down towards new EU-wide rules on EV charging provision in commercial car park settings. From 1 January 2025 the EU directive on charge points in car parks takes effect, with new requirements for destinations that have car parks with a number of spaces above a certain threshold. The new rules are part of the broader Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), which focuses on non-residential buildings with car parks.

Late in 2023 the business acquired a CTEK PRO25SE, capable of delivering up to 25A of battery support power in the workshop, along with fully automatic 8-step charging and maintenance, and 6M cable for maximum flexibility. Previously having used an older alternative, the workshop was on the lookout for a more reliable battery support unit to ensure a stable power source for vehicle's electrical systems during routine servicing and repairs.

Bassetlaw Council switches on EV charging for the NHS
NHS staff in Worksop are charging their Electric Vehicles (EVs) using CTEK charge points installed by Bassetlaw District Council in one of its car parks in the Nottinghamshire town. The four CTEK dual outlet CC2 charge points are in the Council’s Town Hall East car park, which is now exclusively for the use of NHS staff in the mental health support unit based on one floor of Worksop Town Hall. The Council is leasing the office space to the NHS unit.
