Electric Vehicle charging specialist CTEK has won the Chargepoint Manufacturer of the Year at the Electric Vehicle Innovation & Excellence Awards, known as the EVIEs.

CTEK won the Chargepoint Manufacturer title for commercial, industrial and public charging and its new CHARGESTORM CONNECTED 3 (CC3) charge point was also a finalist in the Best New Product category.

Daniel Forsberg, CTEK’s Marketing Manager EVSE, said: "We are thrilled that our mission to design and create the best EV chargepoints has been recognised by the EVIEs judges.

“Our CC3 chargepoint is the latest achievement in our decade-plus evolution of charging equipment seeking the twin goals of innovation and reliability. We create chargepoints that work for EV drivers, for charging operators and for the installers who connect them.

“It is especially pleasing to win an award for our work in the all-important arenas of public and workplace charging. This is a vital area to encourage the adoption of e-mobility by the public and fleets.

“When EV drivers plug into public charging, they need to know it will be easy to use and will work. And operators also want to know their equipment is cyber-secure and primed to make the most of all the future opportunities for smarter charging. The futureproofed CC3 ticks all those boxes, and more.

“We thank the EVIEs judges for this recognition and congratulate our fellow winners. Together we are driving the industry and the public towards an exciting, electric future for mobility.”

CTEK was competing in the Chargepoint Manufacturer of the Year category, sponsored by EV/SOLAR, with fellow finalists Qwello and Zaptec. The winners of the EVIEs were announced at a ceremony at London’s InterContinental O2.

The Sweden-based manufacturer continues to invest in the UK as a growth market for its charge points and network management tools, backed by a UK based team for sales, support, technical assistance and training.

The 2024 arrival of CTEK’s CC3 built on CTEK’s decade-plus experience in designing and manufacturing award-winning Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE). CTEK has already sold more than 100,000 EV charging devices in the UK, its home market Sweden and elsewhere in Europe.

The dual output CC3 incorporates the latest hardware and software innovations ready for easy installation and smart charging today, plus it is futureproofed for the possibilities of tomorrow’s exciting EV energy ecosystem with next level connectivity and control.

Fully cyber security compliant with today’s UK regulations governing chargepoints, each CC3 has a unique password, tamper alerts and encrypted communication. CC3 also meets the ISO15118 standard so is primed for the upcoming V2G (Vehicle to Grid) and V2X (Vehicle to Everything) revolutions.

It supports the latest OCPP 2.0.1 standard (Open Charge Point Protocol), ensuring smooth interaction with a myriad of third-party hardware and software, cementing its position as a versatile and future-ready charging solution. For details of the EVIEs go to: evie.solarenergyevents.com
