CTEK strengthens its commitment to a fossil-free future by joining "2030-sekretariatet"

3 October 2023

CTEK is now joining the Swedish “2030-sekretariatet”, to become part of the movement that’s working to ensure that Sweden reaches its climate goals for the transport sector - to achieve a 70 percent reduction in climate impact by 2030 compared to 2010.

CTEK now announces its participation as a partner in 2030-sekretariatet which brings together a wide range of stakeholders to jointly drive development towards a fossil-free transport sector. The focus of 2030-sekrateriatet’s activities is on the car, the fuel and the behaviour.

- As a leading company in battery charging technology, we want to help ensure that the transformation of the Swedish transport sector takes place in the best possible way, and this involves getting more people to choose fossil-free driving. As a partner in 2030-sekretariatet, we become stronger and can achieve more," says Cecilia Routledge, Global Director Energy & Facilities.

2030-sekretariatet was formed almost ten years ago when the national goal of a fossil-free vehicle fleet was specified. The purpose of 2030-sekretariatet is to ensure that the 2030 target is actually achieved.

- Sweden faces a major challenge when the vehicle fleet is to be rapidly electrified. CTEK plays an important role with its business idea - and not least as a knowledge carrier - to streamline the transition. As 2030 partners and collaborators, we are now in a strong position to push through the right political priorities and remove obstacles to the transport sector's transition. We are very much looking forward to the upcoming work together! says Maria Stenström, responsible for behavioural and mobility issues at 2030-sekretariatet.

CTEK has long participated in the public debate, conducted annual surveys on citizens' attitudes towards driving electric vehicles and also participates in collaborations to increase knowledge and expertise in the automotive industry. Through its participation in 2030-sekretariatet, Cecilia Routledge hopes that CTEK will be able to contribute even more.

- "2030-sekretariatet headed by Mattias Goldmann, has shown that it is possible to achieve more together. Now we hope for a deeper cooperation with, for example, property owners who want to make it easier for motorists to choose fossil-free," concludes Cecilia Routledge.

Car battery maintainers: keep your battery healthy all year

A car battery maintainer will deliver a controlled low current to keep a vehicle's battery in peak condition, making it ideal for vehicles which are parked for extended periods of time. A car battery maintainer, such as those offered by CTEK, helps prevent battery drain and extends battery life. This article explains what a battery maintainer is, how it differs from a standard charger, its benefits for seldom used and seasonal vehicles, practical setup advice for garages and car ports, and a spotlight on CTEK's NXT 5.

Road trip ready: how to avoid a flat battery ruining your summer escape

There’s nothing quite like heading off in a motorhome during summer. Longer days, spontaneous stopovers, coastal roads, mountain campsites and evenings spent outdoors – it’s what motorhome life is all about. But summer adventures also place extra demand on your vehicle’s battery system. Fridges run constantly, lighting stays on later into the evening, phones and devices are always charging and many motorhomes sit unused between trips.
