Det är en dag för att hylla bilbatteriet och påminna människor om vikten av batteriladdning. Och därför, inför denna dag, kommer här några topptips om hur du tar hand om ditt bilbatteri.

Att ta hand om ditt batteri är enkelt och kan lätt integreras i din regelbundna rutin. För att hjälpa oss att säkerställa att våra batterier alltid är i toppskick så att våra fordon alltid är redo att köra, har CTEK utvecklat fem nyckeltips för bilägare bland nuvarande körtrender runt om i världen:

  1.  Spara pengar: Batterifel rapporteras ofta som den främsta orsaken till haverier runt om i världen, och med en växande mängd känslig elektronisk utrustning som läggs till dagens moderna bilar, är detta problem på uppgång. Att använda batteriladdare kan hjälpa dig att spara tid, batterikostnader, bogseringskostnader, reparationskostnader och miljön genom regelbundet batteriunderhåll.
  2. Regelbunden laddning: Åtminstone en gång i månaden när din bil står parkerad i garaget, sträck dig efter din batteriladdare, anslut den och låt den göra sitt jobb snabbt, säkert och effektivt. Om du har en elbil rekommenderas det att du följer ABC-regeln – Always Be Charging (ladda alltid). 
  3. Öm omvårdnad: Att ta hand om ditt batteri efter att det har laddats är lika viktigt som att ladda det från första början. Dagens moderna laddare har nästan säkert inbyggda underhålls- och felsökningsprogram – de flesta av dem automatiska – som kommer att se till att ditt bilbatteri har ett friskt hjärta.
  4. Temperaturmedvetenhet: Batteriprestandan kan minskas med så mycket som 35 procent när temperaturen når fryspunkten, och med så mycket som hälften när temperaturen sjunker ännu lägre. Omvänt är värme också den främsta dödsorsaken för bilbatterier. Bilister bör vara extra försiktiga vid extrema temperaturer och vara uppmärksamma på eventuella fordonsförändringar såsom hur din bil startar, eller hur det elektriska systemet fungerar i allmänhet. Eventuella förändringar kan indikera ett svagt batteri eller problem i det elektriska systemet. 
  5. Smart start: Om du laddar ur ditt batteri försöker vissa bilister lösa problemet genom att använda startkablar, knuffa igång en manuell bil och ta en körning, eller låta bilen stå på tomgång. Detta kommer dock inte att ladda bilbatteriet helt, och kan faktiskt orsaka långvariga skador. Det mest tillförlitliga sättet att återställa ditt batteri är att använda en laddare.
