Pre-pandemic in 2019 alone, more than 220,000 EV owners opted for hotels with charging facilities over those without, so it was a high priority for the hotel to ensure there was sufficient charging infrastructure to accommodate guests and not miss out on vital business.
CTEK’s partner EVC conducted an initial site survey to identify power supply for the charge points and the number of chargers needed to match current and future demand. As charging would be taking place overnight, EVC installed five dual socket, three phase, 22kW CTEK CHARGESTORM CONNECTED 2 (CC2) EV chargers. Using Ohme software, the CC2 chargers are fully compliant with UK Smart Charging Regulations. Each dual socket CTEK charger serves two parking bays, giving the hotel 10 parking bays where guests can access a charge point when they arrive at the hotel.
Hampton by Hilton opted for EVC's fully funded financial option, meaning the installation and ongoing maintenance of the charge points is at zero cost to the hotel chain.
The charge points are monitored 24/7 by EVC's back office system to ensure maximum uptime.
All CTEK’s chargers sold in the UK are fully compliant with UK Smart Charging Regulations. They are also open charge point protocol (OCPP) compliant, meaning that further chargers and load balancing solutions likes CTEK’s NANOGRID can be seamlessly added to the same system, as demand for EV charging inevitably grows.
