Eways and CTEK support Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield's CSR work
Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield extends the service to their customers by offering additional electric vehicle (EV) charging points in their shopping centres. Something that’s also a part of the company's CSR work.
Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield owns 78 different shopping centres in 12 countries, including Westfield Mall of Scandinavia, Westfield Täby Centrum and Nacka Forum in Sweden. In collaboration with Eways and CTEK, the company recently decided to further invest in being the perfect place for EV owners - which is why they have increased the number of EV charging points in their garages.
- "Visitors can charge their cars while doing their shopping. The charging points have been requested and we are very happy to offer this opportunity to all of our visitors. Westfield Mall of Scandinavia is now one of Sweden's largest facilities for EV charging points," says Louise Ryning, Director of Operations Northern Europe at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield.
According to Louise Ryning, the company is constantly working to develop its sites to be as sustainable as possible for visitors, rental guests and the communities where the company operates.
- "We have an environment that allows our visitors to make sustainable choices in their everyday lives, where the charging points are an important step in enabling fossil-free transport," explains Louise Ryning.
One of the main reasons Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield chose to collaborate with Eways and CTEK was their satisfaction with the quality of the products from previous installations.
- We are very pleased with the co-operation and the installation has been succesful in line with our expectations. We have previously worked with Eways and are always satisfied with their installations. We are also continuing to work with CTEK’s user-friendly and reliable products" says Jimmy Ekström, Head of PMPS Northern Europe (Project, Maintenance, Purchasing, Sustainability).
In total, there are about 200 charging points and about half of them are located in Westfield Mall of Scandinavia in Solna. Westfield Täby Centrum and Nacka Forum have about 50 each. In order to be cost-effective, half of the charging points have double outlets and all outlets are also load balanced across the properties.
- You can charge between 7-11kW depending on the occupancy. This means that you don't have to pull out unnecessarily large cables that won't be used to the maximum.
