CTEK has been supplying UK partner Rotronics to provide a complete showroom battery charging solution for the Land Rover teams in Ludlow and Aberystwyth, ensuring that their showroom charging is top-of-the-line, and their customers can see and experience everything that the vehicle has to offer.
If you work at a car dealership, the last thing you want is a flat battery. This would ruin the experience for a potential customer because they cannot try all of the functions on the vehicle.
Ken Clark from Rotronics went to visit the Ludlow Land Rover showroom to ask some questions and assess which kind of support they were looking for.
The service manager at Ludlow Land Rover said that they previously had problems with chargers switching off, even though they selected a charger setting they would later find out that the chargers had turned themselves off. This would often happen before the battery was fully charged. If the battery is flat and drains to zero, there is no other option than to replace the battery.
Because of the rising cost for batteries, a reliable charger is more important than ever. A new battery costs between £150-£300 and if several batteries need to be replaced, this will very quickly become costly for the management team.
The service manager said that except from having to replace the battery and handle those additional costs, they would also need to reset the software because everything would be out of function.
Ken Clark proposed to the team that they should try the CTEK PRO25SE charger, a solution that could solve their problems. The charger can be plugged in and connected to the vehicle while it is simultaneously self-testing and charging the right amount of power.
The Land Rover team tried out the PRO25SE for a couple of weeks and then placed a preliminary order for 10 chargers. They wanted to make sure that they had one charger per battery in the showroom. After the success in Ludlow, the Aberystwyth showroom will be equipped with the PRO25SE chargers as well.
The service manager explained that the CTEK chargers have been very easy to use and that they don’t have to worry about the performance of their batteries anymore. You just plug it in and let the charger do the job for you. The sales team is confident about the vehicles being in top condition when any potential customer visit the showroom.
