CTEK launches Chargestorm Connected 2 Shutter EV charger to meet French IP XXD EV charging requirements
CTEK is launching a new Electric Vehicle (EV) charger*. Designed to meet IP XXD charging requirements, typically used in the French market, the Chargestorm Connected 2 (CC2) Shutter is now in stock and available for order. The EV charger has Type 2 T2S sockets with shutters, extra contact protection, to match required safety standards in France. The CC2 Shutter is available in eight different models, with single or dual output and a charging rate between 3.7 to 22 kW.
The safety standards and regulations vary across Europe and in some countries like France, it is mandatory for house-hold power outlets to be equipped with a shutter. The shutter has been introduced to reduce the risk of contact with electrical components.
The CC2 Shutter is a well-made and reliable EV charger that is easy to use no matter where you chose to charge your vehicle; at the workplace, at a public parking lot or at home. It is compatible with CTEK’s load balancing solution named Nanogrid, that can work with smaller household installations, right the way up to larger commercial installation of 1000+ charge points.
Cecilia Routledge, Global Director of Energy and Facility says, “We are pleased to launch our new CC2 Shutter. With Nanogrid load-balancing and the safety functions required, this is going to be a great asset for the French EV market. The CC2 Shutter will open up for many new opportunities in France”.
The CC2 Shutter is easy to install and maintain and it is available with either a single or dual output as well as an optional 4G connectivity. It has open integration which means that it is compatible with all third-party monitoring and payment system, and it supports open charge point protocol (OCPP). The CC2 Shutter is also equipped with a built-in energy meter, has AC and DC ground fault detection and a built-in fuse.
“We are making EV charging easier, smoother and more accessible, no matter if you are charging in public or at your workplace”, concludes Cecilia Routledge.
*You might have noticed that we call the Chargestorm Connected 2 an ‘EV charger’. Technically speaking it’s ‘electrical vehicle supply equipment’ (or EVSE for short), that provides a safe supply of electricity to power the on-board battery charger in your Electrical Vehicle (EV). Most people use the term EV charger, so to keep things simple, we’ve chosen to use this term too
