St. Stefan’s Church, part of the Knivsta Pastorate in Sweden, is setting a powerful example of sustainability and innovation. With a strong commitment to reducing environmental impact, the Pastorate has made a significant investment in fossil-free energy and smart infrastructure. Among its most visible efforts is the installation of solar panels and the integration of ten EV charging outlets using five dual-socket CHARGESTORM® CONNECTED 3 (CC3) units from CTEK.
Determined to stay ahead of the curve, the Pastorate was quick to order the CC3 – CTEK’s most advanced EV charging solution, specifically chosen for its future-proof technology. The CC3 units are prepared for next-generation features such as Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Plug & Charge, thanks to support for ISO 15118 and OCPP 2.0.1 protocols. This makes the installation not only ready for today’s needs but equipped for tomorrow’s energy ecosystem.
The site features a striking architectural blend of traditional red timber and modern functionality, with solar panels mounted seamlessly on the roof. The design respects the church's surrounding buildings while delivering the Pastorate’s vision of a greener future.
The CC3 charging stations, each offering up to 2 x 22 kW AC charging power, were installed by AR Belysningsteknik and integrated into a user-friendly app-based payment system via Parkster. This ensures easy access and reliable service for both parish staff and visitors.
CTEK’s CC3 was selected for its robust performance and extensive features:
With its blend of tradition and technology, Knivsta Pastorate has positioned itself as a role model for sustainable transition in religious and public buildings. By taking early action and choosing a scalable, intelligent solution like CC3, they’ve ensured flexibility for the future – whether for local EV owners, visitors, or emerging grid-connected charging services.
“Knivsta Pastorate is a great example of how forward-thinking organisations can combine heritage with smart energy solutions. Their choice to invest early in V2G-ready charging infrastructure shows true leadership.”
– Anders Follin, Key Account Manager, CTEK
