CTEK's NXT 5 next generation battery charger has scored a perfect five stars in a test and review by Germany's influential motorcycling magazine Motorrad.
The extended test saw the NXT 5 put through its paces for three months, and not just on motorcycle batteries. The NXT 5 was also tested on batteries belonging to motorhomes and cars.
Motorrad's verdict was: "It impressed us with all types of batteries … all the batteries were perfectly charged."
The test report noted how the NXT 5 can charge many kinds of batteries, including lead-acid, AGM, gel and lithium. The smart battery charger also features automatic spark-free operation, reverse polarity protection and CTEK's hallmark connect-and-forget functionality.
Describing the NXT 5 as "compact, robust, safe and user-friendly", Motorrad could find no negatives and praised its simple operation, advanced charging technology and wide range of applications.
CTEK's NXT 5's 5A output is perfect for motorcycle batteries. And it has a big sister, the NXT 15 which has 15A charging for larger batteries such as those in trucks, boats, off-road and performance builds.
Motorrad has a history that can be traced back almost 125 years. It publishes a print edition every two weeks and has Europe's largest circulation for a specialist motorcycling publication. It is renowned for the thoroughness of its testing of bikes and equipment.
