When your car battery starts showing signs of weakness—like dim headlights, slow engine starts, or even a complete failure—it’s easy to assume the battery needs replacing. However, before rushing to buy a new one, consider an often-overlooked solution: charging your battery. Investing in a quality charger can not only save you money but also extend the life of your current battery, avoiding unnecessary replacements.

1. Batteries don't always need replacing

Car batteries lose charge over time due to various factors such as short trips, cold weather, or even parasitic drains from modern vehicles’ electronics. In many cases, the battery isn’t dead—it’s simply discharged. Purchasing a new battery every time it underperforms isn’t just expensive, it’s also unnecessary. A good charge can often restore your battery to full functionality.

2. CTEK chargers are designed to maximize battery life

CTEK chargers are smart, fully automatic, and designed to give your battery the precise care it needs. With advanced technology like the CS ONE, it can automatically detect the type of battery you’re using—whether it’s lead-acid or lithium—and deliver a customised charging program. This ensures your battery is charged safely and efficiently, without overcharging or causing damage.

In fact, regular charging with CTEK can prevent common battery issues such as sulphation, which occurs when a battery’s charge drops below 12.4V. By keeping your battery fully charged with a CTEK charger, you can avoid this harmful buildup and extend the life of your battery.

3. Avoid unnecessary replacements – save money

Buying a new car battery can be costly, especially if you’re replacing one prematurely. CTEK chargers, on the other hand, are an investment that pays off in the long run. Rather than spending money on a new battery every time you experience issues, regularly charging your existing battery with CTEK ensures it stays healthy and ready to perform when you need it most.

4. Environmentally friendly option

Replacing a battery that still has life left isn’t just a financial burden—it’s also wasteful. Batteries contain harmful chemicals and materials that need to be properly disposed of, and frequent replacements contribute to environmental waste. Charging and maintaining your current battery with a CTEK charger reduces this waste, making it the more environmentally responsible choice.

5. The convenience of regular charging

Modern CTEK chargers don’t require constant supervision. They are designed to be plugged in and left to monitor the battery, automatically switching to maintenance mode once the battery reaches full charge. This means you can keep your battery in peak condition year-round with minimal effort. Before you buy a new car battery, consider whether your current battery simply needs a charge rather than a replacement. With CTEK chargers, you can revive and maintain your battery for years to come, saving both money and the environment. Investing in a smart charger like the CTEK CS ONE will not only extend your battery’s lifespan but also ensure your car is always ready to go when you need it. Don’t waste money on unnecessary replacements—charge with CTEK instead!

Falun, Sweden – CTEK, a global leader in battery charging and electric vehicle charging, has entered into a new agreement with the Swedish Ski Association to provide EV charging infrastructure at Riksskidstadion in Falun, Sweden’s Alpine National Arena and the Swedish Ski Association’s Åre office. Under the agreement, CTEK is providing charging solutions from its CHARGESTORM CONNECTED 3 (CC3) product family. The project is being delivered alongside installation partner Kalema e-Mobility, which is carrying out the installations at Riksskidstadion, Sweden’s Alpine National Arena and the Swedish Ski Association’s Åre office. They will provide reliable and convenient charging when vehicles are at Riksskidstadion, Sweden’s Alpine National Arena or the Swedish Ski Association’s Åre office, supporting the Association’s continued transition towards more sustainable transport. For the Swedish Ski Association, the drive to constantly improve goes beyond athletic performance. The Association believes it is equally important to keep improving the smart, climate-friendly solutions that support its everyday operations. “We are delighted to work with the Swedish Ski Association as its EV charging partner. Elite sport depends not only on what happens on the track or slopes, but also on the people, vehicles and infrastructure working behind the scenes. By providing our CC3 charging technology and working alongside Kalema e-Mobility, we can help support the Association’s everyday operations and its transition towards more electrified transport,” said Johanna Mogren Sundqvist, Sales Manager EVSE at CTEK. Developed in Sweden for professional EV charging, CC3 can be adapted to different organisations, vehicle requirements and parking environments. The EV chargers can provide up to 22 kW per outlet and support connectivity and load balancing. This allows the available electrical capacity to be used efficiently while enabling the charging infrastructure to expand as the Swedish Ski Association’s requirements grow. "For us, this investment is about creating the conditions for a smarter and more sustainable operation. Our athletes, coaches and staff travel extensively throughout the year, and reliable charging infrastructure is becoming an increasingly important part of our everyday operations. CTEK combines proven technology with strong local roots in Dalarna, making them a natural supplier as we continue to develop our organisation and reduce the environmental impact of our transport solutions," said Johan Gräfnings, Swedish Ski Association. The agreement connects CTEK’s home in Falun, Dalarna, with the Swedish Ski Association’s activities at Sweden’s Alpine National Arena and its Åre office in Jämtland. For CTEK, it is an opportunity to support the Swedish Ski Association and its national teams with technology that makes a practical difference behind the scenes.
