COVID-19 has made 2020 a year we will never forget, for so many reasons. One thing that has been truly amazing is the way that our communities have pulled together. Here at CTEK we wanted play our part and contribute to our local communities, nationally and internationally. Our ‘Supporting our communities’ workstream helped us to have a strong focus.
We wanted to support the tremendous effort of emergency services across the globe. Frontline staff still continue the fight against COVID-19, heaviliy reliant on vehicles being used to transport supplies, services and frontline workers, critical to the COVID-19 response. We have worked with emergency services in the UK, Germany and North America, providing them with chargers to help increase fleet reliability and avoid battery-related breakdowns – so they can continue to carry out their incredible work. Here are just some of the ways in which we have supported emergency services:
In North America we donated 24 CTEK Time to Go Smartchargers to the OSF HealthCare Foundation. The foundation encompasses 13 hospitals and another 105 health care facilities across Illinois and Michigan. The chargers will be used Ministry-wide to maintain the OSF HealthCare fleet of ambulances and service vehicles.

Mountain Rescue England and Wales and the British Cave Rescue Council are both voluntary Blue Light Agencies in the UK. They have been supporting both the National Health Service and the Police in the fight against COVID-19. Both organisations are made of a 100% voluntary membership and everything the team funds is done purely by public donation. We donated 12 MXS 5.0 chargers to support the continuous running of vehicles and ambulances in the fleet.

In Germany we donated five CTEK MXS 5.0 to the Malteser Hilfsdienst e. V. (MHD) a relief organisation helping with the COVID-19 effort. They have been using the chargers to maintain and charge the batteries of their ambulances and service vehicles.
We also sent various chargers to the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW), a civil protection organisation controlled by the German federal government. They provide technical and logistical support to authorities, such as the fire brigade and the police.
For CTEK it is important that we carry on with this work into the future, something which is very important to all of our staff. We continue to be amazed every day by the contribution that people all over the world are making to support each other to combat and aid recovery from COVID-19, and are happy to be making a contribution to these efforts.
