En banbrytande byggnad i Manchester visar vägen för framtidens urbana bostadsparkering, laddning av elfordon, cykelförvaring, biluthyrning och paketservice.

Manchester City Councils Ancoats Mobility Hub är en åtta våningar hög innovationsbyggnad klädd i gröna väggar i full höjd, i hjärtat av ett viktigt förnyelseområde.

De 400 parkeringsplatserna inkluderar 102 som är försedda med laddning för elfordon (EV) via 51 CTEK CHARGESTORM CONNECTED laddstationer med dubbla uttag, vilket gör det till den största CTEK-installationen i Storbritannien hittills.

Ancoats Mobility Hub förvaltas åt kommunen av APCOA, som driver 1,6 miljoner individuella parkeringsplatser i 12 europeiska länder.

Hundratals solpaneler på Mobility Hubs tak bidrar till elförsörjningen som driver laddstolparna. Cykelnavet har plats för 150 cyklar samt skåp och duschar för cyklister.

Mobility Hubs uppgifter inkluderar att fungera som en katalysator för planerad och pågående utveckling av bostadslägenheter inom gångavstånd i Ancoats.

Visionen är att lägenhetsinnehavare som har en bil kommer att parkera vid mobilitetsnavet, och de som har en elbil kommer att göra majoriteten av sin laddning där vid tidpunkter som passar snabb AC-laddning, inklusive över natten. En biluthyrningstjänst som också är baserad på Mobility Hub kopplar in sig på laddningen av elfordon.

Logiken följer kommunens vision om minskad parkering på gator och ytparkering, för att skapa renare och grönare samhällen som är mer välkomnande för fotgängare och cyklister.

Vissa av bostadsutvecklingarna reserverar parkeringsplatser vid Mobility Hub för sina framtida invånare. Elbilsförare kan betala för både parkering och laddning via QR-koder och via APCOA:s app.

CTEK, den regerande ”Chargepoint Manufacturer of the Year” vid UK Electric Vehicle Innovation & Excellence Awards, valdes av APCOA som leverantör av laddpunkter till Ancoats Mobility Hub.

CHARGESTORM CONNECTED laddpunkter finns tillgängliga med dubbla uttag, vilket innebär att Ancoats Mobility Hub kan ladda upp till 102 elbilar från sina 51 laddstationer som är distribuerade över parkeringsplanen.

APCOA är dedikerade till att leverera omfattande dygnet runt kundsupport från Storbritannien, med sina supportteam i Wigan utbildade på CTEK:s laddpunkter för att fjärrlösa eventuella problem snabbt och fullständigt.

”Istället för att vara en parkeringsplats eller cykelgarage, ett nav för sista milen-leveranser och ett nytt kommersiellt utrymme, är denna utveckling en blåkopia för hur vi kan skapa renare, grönare samhällen – med färre bilar och mer utrymme för människor att njuta av sitt utrymme i en fredligare och säkrare miljö.”
