2026 är ett år med stora möjligheter för elbilar, säger Stefan Gabrielsson från det globala laddningsvarumärket CTEK, med en rad spännande nya bilar på väg ut på marknaden och en ny era av smartare laddning möjlig. Men för att helt accelerera mot eldrift måste alla i elbilsystemet uppmuntra förare att byta.

Stefan sa: ”Förare letar efter de rätta signalerna – från bilindustrin, från regeringar, från laddningsoperatörer, från energileverantörer – för att övergå till elektrisk mobilitet och för att utnyttja dess potential till fullo.”

CTEK förutspår att 2026 kommer att innebära betydande utveckling inom laddning av elbilar. Efterfrågan på offentlig laddning kommer att fortsätta att växa, då fler hushåll, vissa utan parkering utanför gatan, börjar köra elbilar och fler laddhybrider (PHEV) kommer ut på vägarna med större batterier som gör det lönt att ladda.

Laddningsleverantörer kommer att utforska införandet av 22 kW AC-laddning för att tillgodose det ökande antalet nya elbilar som kan ta emot 22 kW AC. Modeller från Audi, BMW, Hyundai, Jaguar, Kia, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault, Volvo och VW kommer alla att vara ute på vägarna 2026 med 22 kW AC-laddningskapacitet.

Stefan sa: ”22 kW AC möjliggör snabbare laddning, vilket ger snabbare omsättning och ökad utnyttjandegrad för laddningsleverantörer, men med betydligt billigare installations- och hårdvarukostnader för AC jämfört med DC.”

2026 kommer också att innebära att smartare laddning blir mainstream. Detta kommer att inkludera mer Autocharge och sedan Plug & Charge, vid offentlig laddning och laddning på arbetsplatsen, då fler elbilar och laddningshårdvara och -programvara samarbetar för att förenkla förarens upplevelse och effektivisera operatörens administration.

Offentliga laddningsleverantörer kommer att fortsätta att expandera sina nätverk och bör säkerställa deras kontinuerliga underhåll för att göra nätverken mer robusta. Detta kommer att lägga grunden för att använda de senaste kommunikationsstandarderna och protokollen för att införa förarvänliga och nätverksvänliga smartare laddningskoncept.

Energileverantörer kommer att erbjuda fler smarta tariffer 2026 och kommer att fortsätta att experimentera med allt smartare sätt att ladda elbilar för att hålla kostnaderna så låga som möjligt och för att hjälpa elnäten att hantera efterfrågan.

Stefan sa: ”Tillsammans med nätoperatörerna bör energileverantörerna övervinna hinder för smartare laddning och utveckla Vehicle to Grid (V2G)-plattformar som gör det möjligt för elbilsbatterier att mata tillbaka energi till nätet för att jämna ut efterfrågetoppar, erbjuda reservkraft för nödsituationer och hjälpa till att stabilisera distributionsnätet.”

Regeringar och andra myndigheter bör fortsätta att stimulera och stödja laddningsleverantörer att installera fler laddpunkter och förarbetet för fler som följer.

Stefan sa: ”Mitt i blandade budskap från regeringar och industrin om övergångstakten, kommer förare att behöva tydliga signaler om att 2026 är ett bra år att byta till el. Det kommer att inkludera mycket mer tillgång till offentlig laddning, smartare laddningsalternativ hemma och på vägen, och mer dynamiska eltariffer för att hjälpa förare och nätet.

”Om laddningen blir smartare, elbilar blir billigare och uppmuntran blir större, då kan elbilsrevolutionen fortsätta i full fart i år.”
