THE POSSIBILITY OF OFFERING EV CHARGING POINTS IS A MATTER OF COURSE IN THE HOTEL AND TOURISM INDUSTRY
Gränsö Castle is a family-owned four-star superior resort offering luxurious relaxation by the sea outside Västervik. You can stay in the hotel, swim in the spa and dine in the castle's restaurant and café.
- The castle is located in a nature reserve in the archipelago. We offer virtually everything a guest might need during their stay with us. In addition, we also have events and weddings all year round, says Sigrid Persdotter, hotel manager at Gränsö Castle.

Just a few years ago, Gränsö Castle had only a threephase socket on one wall. Now, they have decided to install several charging points.
- The need has exploded. We started with four chargers and that wasn't enough. Now we have just installed eight more. We hope it will be enough to meet demand for a while longer," says Sigrid Persdotter.
You don't have to book any of the charging points, it's first come, first served. The choice of CTEK and CHARGESTORM CONNECTED 2 is largely due to the cooperation with the local electricity company in the city.
- Our electricity company Västerviks Elektriska AB helped us choose this. They know our hotel inside and out and solved everything, including load balancing. We use RFID tags and plan to do a measurement later to see how the consumption is. The fact that Gränsö Castle now offers its visitors the opportunity to charge electric vehicles has only brought positive reactions, says Sigrid Persdotter.
- Those who have visited us over the years are happy not to have to stand by the pool room and various places to charge their cars! Offering the opportunity to charge their electric vehicles is part of Gränsö Castle's work on sustainability issues and we are also working on other initiatives to reduce our climate impact.
- We are of course trying to work with food waste. We buy a lot of organic products that are locally produced as far as supplies are available. Another important part is that we use environmentally certified cleaning products. We have also had several different studies on how we can work with solar cells, for example, but unfortunately solar cells cannot cover all our electricity needs at the moment.
As a hotel, being able to show that you can offer your visitors the possibility of charging their electric cars has also become a marketing advantage: "It's more of a matter of course today than it was before," concludes Sigrid Persdotter.
